BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Ole miss senior captain Sabina Machalova was selected for the women’s tennis community service by the SEC in 2022 as published by the conference Wednesday.
Machalova was elected in the SEC’s community service team for the first time in his college career. This year’s team consists of 13 individual players from across the Southeastern Conference.
Machalova had a considerable impact on the community of Oxford, Mississippi, and is a role model on and off the field. The captain of the team No. 1 in singles and doubles of the Rebels tennis team has contributed to the community through the Ole Miss Athletics program and local organizations.
Through the Athletics Department Machalova has committed to the Adopt-A-Basketball program every year. Through this program Ole Miss Thanksgiving baskets donated annually to families in need throughout the Lafayette-Oxford-University (LOU) Community. For Halloween, she participated in the annual Trunk or Treat event for families in the LOU community.
Machalova made an extraordinary effort to have a positive impact on the education system in the community. She has volunteered at Oxford Elementary Because Drop, welcoming students to school by opening doors and making them a sign to start their day. By participating in Feed The Sip program, she helped to collect non-perishable food to elementary schools in Tunica and Quitman County. By participating in the college football playoff Extra Yard for Teachers, Machalova celebrated teachers of the LOU community. It also has books and bears collected to make a donation in the annual collection books and Bears.
Machalova embarked on a Hope to Dream in which she helped surprise 50 Mississippi-area children with a complete bed set provided by Ashley Homestore. She also participated in the Night To Shine celebrating guests with special needs at an unforgettable evening ball.
Machalova is a member of the International Committee of Rebels. She is currently in the top 50 on the ITA Singles Chart.
