BONITA – Yes on 401 supporters has announced another informational community meeting, this time targeting a specific group.
Those who work or volunteer in public safety, including search and rescue, are invited to meet at The Pharm, 5900 Greenhouse Road, Willcox on Wednesday, October 5, 6-7 p.m.
To maintain security, participation must be pre-booked. RSVP by emailing [email protected]
Two community meetings for the general public are scheduled for Safford on Tuesday, October 4, at The Venue on Main Street. The first meeting starts at 6 p.m. and the second at 7 p.m.
A Maricopa County group calling itself Respect The Will Of The People: Graham County Voters & The Arizona Public Integrity Alliance Encourage A No Vote On Massive Marijuana Expansion In Our Area has submitted enough qualifying signatures to put before voters the final approval from Graham County Board of Supervisors’ decision to rezone two greenhouse complexes in Bonita. The rezoning – from agriculture to industry – would allow NatureSweet to sell the compounds in Bayacan for the cultivation of medical-grade cannabis.
A yes vote on Prop 401 will confirm the supervisors’ decision and the rezoning will stand. A negative vote will overrule the supervisors’ decision and the properties will not be rezoned.
If voters approve the rezoning, Bayacan estimates the creation of about 450 new jobs, with an estimated economic impact of $100 million for Graham County.
The election will take place on Tuesday November 4th and the last day to register is Tuesday October 11th. Early voting begins Tuesday, October 4, and the last day to request early voting by mail is Friday, October 28. .
