Pitt Meadows takes nominations for community service awards

The City of Pitt Meadows accepts nominations for its annual Community Service Awards.

The City invites the population to highlight inspiring individuals, organizations and businesses that are making a positive difference in the community.

“There are so many great people and businesses in Pitt Meadows that make us Pitt Meadows proud,” said Mayor Bill Dingwall. “The annual community service awards are our chance to show our appreciation for their outstanding community service and involvement.”

The Community Service Awards program was created in 2019 to recognize and honor outstanding contributions and achievements by groups, organizations and individuals in six categories:

• Spirit of Pitt Meadows Award (recognizing Outstanding Resident of the Year)

• Award of Excellence Against All Odds

Community Service Award

• Youth Community Service Awards (18 and under)

• Business of the Year Award

• Good Neighbor Award

“It’s important to recognize our neighbours, young people, businesses and community groups who go above and beyond,” said City Manager Mark Roberts. “Their contributions make our community a better place to live.

Applications are open until September 30. Further information, including nomination criteria and the online nomination form, is available at pittmeadows.ca/awards.

The Community Service Awards Working Group, made up of community representatives, will review all nominations and select the recipients who best reflect the category in which they were nominated.

The winners will be announced and presented with their awards later this year as part of the annual Christmas celebration at Pitt Meadows on December 2.
