Community meeting

Join Metro for a virtual community meeting on proposed bus priority lanes on Florence Avenue

Metro and the City of Los Angeles are partnering on the Florence Avenue bus priority lane project along a 5.4-mile segment of Florence between West Boulevard and the Florence A Line (blue) station. The project will add two-way bus priority lanes that would be used by buses during peak weekday hours from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The project will benefit users of metro line 111, which has more than 16,500 daily boardings. It also complements the City’s vision to improve overall community safety by reducing the need for vehicles in traffic lanes to mingle with buses.

Adding dedicated bus lanes is a key part of the NextGen Bus Plan to restructure and accelerate our bus system; bus lanes can improve bus speeds by 15% or more, making it more likely that buses will meet schedules and get passengers to their final destinations and transfer points faster. The lanes also allow residents, businesses and visitors to park on the street during lunchtime, evening and weekends.
