Greenhorn Firewise Community Meeting Today

Has your home insurance expired or can’t you afford it? The Greenhorn Firewise community is having a meeting you might want to attend, especially those living along the Greenhorn Road corridor.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. today at 12836 Greenhorn Rd., at the corner of Blair Court and Greenhorn Road, one block from the Brunswick Road intersection. Bring a chair.

Wanda Mertens of Mertens Insurance will address vital insurance issues for homeowners. She is very knowledgeable about the insurance industry and has information that most of us would like to know. Dianne Marshall will provide an update on the unique Greenhorn Firewise community water tank installation project. Paul Tebbel will talk about defensible space and free defensible space advisory tours. Nevada County Deputy Chief Executive Caleb Dardick will be there to discuss residents’ fire safety priorities. PG&E’s Dave Crockett will speak about PG&E’s wildfire safety program.

Please RSVP to [email protected]. Include your questions for presenters when responding. The Greenhorn Firewise Community is an unincorporated non-profit organization certified by the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) Firewise USA. We are part of the Nevada County Coalition of Firewise Communities working under the direction of the Nevada County Fire Safe Counsel in conjunction with the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services and the Nevada County Consolidated Fire District.
