Community Service to Remember 9/11 | Local

A community 9/11 commemoration program will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 11 at the Smithfield Fire Station, marking the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America. The ceremony is open to the public.

The program is organized by the Marine Corps League Standing Stone Detachment, Huntingdon, with costs borne by Huntingdon veterans of the Foreign Wars after 1754. Coordinated by Huntingdon residents Jay and Elaine Buchanan, the ceremony of Patriot’s Day will include music, remarks and the presentation of a memorial wreath to remember those who died on September 11, 2001 and to honor emergency services and military personnel serving today.
