Community Program Grants Fully Distributed, Partners Announced

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – Funds allocated to reach children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic are being fully distributed ahead of schedule. No new applications for Idaho Community Program Grants will be accepted.

The Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) has supported over 80 community partners through multiple community program funding rounds. The grants were part of the federal government’s American Rescue Plan Act for Child Care Development Fund. They were allocated to expand access to programs, improve behavioral health supports, and help bring students back on track after missed learning opportunities.

“We are thrilled to be able to fund such a diverse group of organizations for this past year,” said Ericka Rupp, Idaho Child Care Program Manager. “We had planned funding rounds through 2023, but due to demand, we reached our funding threshold earlier than expected.”
