Following the announcement of the first major new sawmill in the area in decades, Tahoe Forest Products LLC will host a community meeting on Tuesday, August 23 at 10 a.m. The event will be held at Indian Hills General Improvement District, 3394 James Lee in Carson. Town.

The sawmill is planned on 40 acres off Highway 50 behind Carson City Plaza and behind Walmart, Petco and Costco south of Carson City.

Tahoe Forest Products will also be holding an open house from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30. According to its website, Tahoe Forest Products is dedicated to the responsible commercial processing of logs sourced from our region. TFP was formed with the goal of building a commercial sawmill in the Tahoe area that would provide a nearby destination for the responsible processing of locally harvested and salvaged lumber.
