It has been almost seven months since the war ended in Afghanistan, prompting one of the largest emergency air evacuations in history. Who can forget the photos and video of desperate families outside the airport gates trying to flee Taliban forces. The few who escaped were lucky, but they left everything and everyone behind and started again. IINE is one of many agencies contributing to efforts to resettle these families and individuals in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. IINE’s dedicated staff work literally around the clock to help these people obtain clothing, food, housing, work permits, jobs, health care, children enrolled in school, English as a second language lessons, legal assistance and the list goes on and on. They cannot do it alone and rely heavily on volunteers.
